Considering how hard it has been for tourism in the past two years, it’s really commendable that a few of our favorite places in Bali still managed to grab a spot on the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Best of the Best list.

Mauri, the ever-gorgeous Italian restaurant in Seminyak merits theirs in the Fine Dining category – taking the sixth place out of 25 names from all over Asia.

Head Chef and owner Maurizio Bombini shared with us, “The past year has been extremely challenging for restaurant businesses. We had to adapt ourselves, implementing new cleanliness measures, adding social distancing guidelines, and be agile by diversifying our offerings”. Bombini, is of course speaking highly of his restaurant’s impressive adaptability with two new services. First was “Mauri at Home” where, as the name states clearly, the restaurant takes orders of their impeccable menu and then delivers them straight to your dining table. Then comes the innovative “Mauri Gourmet”, where they bottle their authentic flavors and share them with customers for them to experiment and enjoy in their own kitchen.

Almost three years since opening in November 2018, Mauri has been facing challenges over challenges. As they call it, gone from strength to strength. From one of the most prolific fine dining in South of Bali, to enhancing protocols to ensure the safety of both restaurant guests and team members, Mauri has not decreased their quality even just a little bit. Their vision to drive customers to discover the authentic taste of Italy’s lovely heel (that’s Apulia for you geography geeks) into the culinary scene of Bali and Indonesia remains with the same dedication and passion. This award is a true proof of that.

“It’s a great achievement,” Bombini added, “I am extremely proud of my team’s perseverance during these difficult times.”
