Escape to the true beauty of luxury island living at BASK Gili Meno.

As one would’ve noticed on their recent visit to Bali, this island is becoming more populated and over- developed each year. This resulted in traffic jams and the increasing amount of tourist buses that passes through the road every day. Although Bali still holds its charm, it is just not the same as it was 5 to 10 years ago. And what do we do to escape the hustling and bustling? A quick island getaway seems like the perfect solution. And where do we go? BASK at Gili Meno is the definitive answer to this problem.

Located in the unspoiled land of Gili Islands, BASK Resort Gili Meno is a new beach club and resort that offers a niche luxury travel experience to active, young professionals. The first eco-resort property of its type in the region, BASK Resort Gili Meno is being developed by a strong team of Australia industry-leading creators led by entrepreneur Greg Meyer. And exclusively for this project, award- winning creative director George Gorrow, of fashion brand Ksubi, also joins him and architect Gare Fell whose combined highly visual and very creative handiwork is playing a major role in the interior and exterior design of the resort.

Situated on 300 meters of private, white-sand beach on Gili Meno’s west-facing shore, the BASK Resort Gili Meno is home to 87 luxurious villas that provides a full-service secluded personal retreat within the resort’s breath-taking seaside surrounds. Offered in studio, loft, two, and three-bedroom arrangements, the BASK’s open-plan accommodation maximize the scenic island setting with villas situated beachfront, lakeside, or nestled amid the resort’s lush manicured grounds. Local fish villas, with their thatched roofs and bamboo frames, serve as inspiration for the resort’s architectural design.

With a focus on craftsmanship and quality, BASK’s fully furnished villas will be outfitted with furnishings crafted by local artisans. A marriage of streamlined contemporary polish and traditional island ease, interiors will combine rich display interplay of textures and materials against a cool, neutral palette. Every structure is outfitted with the latest technology and features specially curated works by prominent artists. Lattice wood screens, retractable glass walls, and an indoor-outdoor configuration will immerse guests in views of the surrounding beauty while making the most of coastal breeze and Gili Meno’s balmy year-round weather.

BASK Resort Gili Meno also features a wide of facilities. These include a beach club offering panoramic beachfront and lakeside views from its infinity pool deck while the indoor cocktail lounge and beach bar will serve locally sourced organic food and beverages including a raw beer that will tempt even the most health-conscious drinker. Adding even more Australian flavour to the overall BASK Resort Gili Meno concept, the restaurant’s menu of Indonesian- influenced Asian and Western cuisine will be designed by Chef Dan Moran of Sydney’s iconic Rockpool Bar and Grill while Australian mixologist Mark Ward of Hugo’s and the creator of Regal Rogue Vermouth will concoct his signature cocktails blended with unique ingredients.

Gili Meno resides in the middle of the three Gili islands, located 30 miles off the coast of Lombok. Making it easy to reach by airplanes from Bali or Lombok, followed by a fast-boat ferry or private speedboat charters. In recent years, this island has seen a steady increase in tourist seeking adventure and looking for an alternative from the neighbouring island of Bali. Rich marine life thrives in the clear waters of the surrounding Indian Ocean, and the region’s diving is regularly heralded as a must- experience and is self- proclaimed the “turtle capital of the world.”

If total relaxation is what you’re aiming for, and then BASK’s spa and wellness centre will be your personal sanctuary. With a wide range of treatments ready to serve you, make sure to make the most of your time in this place. For those interested in more active pursuits, the resort offers diving, golf, surfing, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding and hiking. BASK Resort Gili Meno also dedicates their service to sustainable living as the property will feature a recycling program, no plastic policy, a water treatment plant, and composting system. BASK is also home to an underwater artwork that is called Nest that can be found 40 meters away from the beach club. Created by underwater sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, the 48 life- size human figures are sculpted from pH neutral, environmental grade concrete to provide a natural home for soft corals and sponges and will encourage other marine life. The ecological focus of the sculptures is aligned with the ethos of BASK.
