French-inspired Cuisine in the Heart of Canggu

A French taste with Canggu vibes

If you are craving for savory and jolly-good French food then Folie Kitchen & Patisserie is the right place for you. Located perfectly in the popular Canggu neighborhood, Folie Kitchen & Patisserie is a chic restaurant that serves exquisite modern French dishes, delectable pastries and desserts, homey ambience, ‘Instagram-worthy” corners, and excellent hospitality.

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you’re attention will instantly be diverted to the meticulously designed interiors. This gorgeous restaurant offers both indoor seating as well as outdoors. The interior design of the indoor seating is elegant and sophisticated with large cascading plants, a monochromic color palette for the walls and floors, wooden furniture with a touch of navy in the chairs. The outdoor seating is much more vibrant with bright pastel color palette. The design is very current for this Instagram age with its pastel pink walls, pastel blue sofas, and colorful floral wallpaper. It’s perfect for an impromptu photo session.

To start of your dining experience, start with their refreshing Folie Caesar salad, which uses Mediterranean anchovies, baby lettuces, Parmesan cheese, yolk and black truffle croutons. The cheese, yolk and truffle balance the saltiness of the anchovies perfectly. The Traditional Onion Soup is also a delightful dish with “Farine” sourdough and Emmental cheese. Make sure you dig deep into the soup to get all of the scrumptiousness in your spoon. With a selection of beverages, Folie Kitchen & Patisserie offers invigorating fruity cocktails and mocktails to go with your meal.

Continue on to the main course with their divine Pan Seared French Duck Foie Gras, which uses Kaffir lime, lychee, toasted brioche and Sumba island brown honey.  The combination of flavors is like a little explosion in your mouth. For pasta enthusiasts their Angel Hair Pasta Aglio E Olio is highly recommended. The pasta incorporates Grilled Tiger prawns, dried tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts and olive oil. For the meat dish treat yourself with their tantalizing Australian Wagyu Beef “Strogonoff”, which uses bone marrow, black pepper sauce, shiitake mushrooms and homemade gnocchi. The bone marrow might be overpowering to certain people but the gnocchi balances the flavor and complements each other perfectly.

Folie Kitchen & Patisserie is famous for the delectable desserts and one shouldn’t miss out on satisfying their sweet tooth. The Strawberry Kemangi is a heavenly dessert that has the right amount of sweetness. The equally delicious Lemon Meringue has a bit more sour kick to it for those who like sour desserts. These colorful desserts aren’t just tasty; they are masterfully made and are a treat for the eyes as well.

Head Chef Stephane Simond has masterfully crafted the perfect menu using his years of experience by combining modern French cuisine with Asian flavors. Folie Kitchen & Patisserie not only serves superb food but presents a comfortable dining experience from the artistic plating to the contemporary design that feels very current and fits with today’s aesthetic.
