Brasil’s iconic sandal brand, Havaianas, just recently announced the “Donate Your Old Sandals” Campaign; embracing the society to donate their secondhand sandals that are still feasible to wear. This social campaign was also done to commemorate the Indonesia’s National Hero’s Day on November 10th 2019.

This is a perfect moment to grow our sense of heroism, that’s why Havaianas invites the whole Indonesian society to come to our stores and donate their used sandals” explains Jitin Kapoor, the Managing Director of PT Kanmo Retailindo. “Those sandals then will be processed further to help those who are in need. We will also give an IDR 50k voucher for every participants” he said.

To join this novel campaign, customer simply can bring their used sandals of all brands (in feasible conditions, of course), to every dropping point located in Havaianas outlets of Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali from the period of 4-30 November 2019. Havaianas will clean up the sandals and making sure of their condition before collaborating with ‘Aksi Cepat Tanggap’ non profit organization to distribute the sandals for the poors and in need.

Changed the concept of footwear in the mid-1990s, Havaianas has turned flip-flops into a highly desired fashion item. Since its launch in 1962, more than 5 billion pairs of Havaianas have been sold worldwide – in rows, the sandals would form such a large circle that they could circle the earth 65 times. Known for the quality of its products, the global leader in flip-flops sandals is at the feet of people of all ages, gender and social class. Each year, Havaianas sell 240 million pairs of slippers worldwide. For more info about this campaign and their other projects, please follow their instagram at @HavaianasID
