In a province that has always been under the shadows of (or rather stuck between) Bali’s world class facilities and Labuan Bajo’s rustic islands, Lombok is considered to be taking a slow start in their tourism game. Aruna is here to change that

It’s not that Lombok doesn’t have the potential, they just took the longer road. When Bali built their first hotel back in the 1960s, Lombok never have thought that they could sell their pristine beaches and exotic tiny islands in the way that Bali would. So once Bali became the superstar of Indonesia’s tropical holiday destination, Lombok was just getting started. Fast forward to the early 2000s, Lombok began to get a grasp of this island getaway thing and built their very own international airport in Praya – a smart step that proven to became the catalyst in their tourism industry. Roads and transportation improved, five star hotels and beachside resorts began to set camp here and there, Mount Rinjani is climbed by hundreds of hikers daily and the gilis developed like crazy, people start to explore Lombok’s other untouched micro islands.

So it’s just obvious that other facilities are needed to support this industry boost – something that Topotels see as a potential. They opened Aruna Senggigi Resort & Convention in 2016 on the building of previously established hotel Graha Senggigi Beach, with an important addition: it’s catered for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitons events (MICE). Yes, the one big market that would complete tourism’s holy trifecta of explore, retreat and business in Senggigi area. The Aruna Grand room can accommodate up to a whopping 1000 seating guests (the largest along the Senggigi coastline), whilst they also provide four smaller meeting rooms for a more intense decision makings. Of course that many guests would need the very best of Aruna’s hospitality as well, because with the name change and the ballroom, they‘ve also added new rooms. Now boasting an impressive total number of 157 rooms of six different types (from deluxe rooms, cottages to suites), raising Aruna’s status as one of the largest hotel around the popular vicinity.

To complete a stay experience in Aruna, one needs more than a night – since with their size and capacity, comes a smorgasbord of facilities. You can try one out of their three (yes, three) restaurants, all with their own forte and vista. SeaView, as its name implied, is right at the beachside, Pandan serves traditional Indonesian cuisine all day long, while Kayu Manis Rooftop has the tastiest fresh beverages. For activitiesoutside the hotel, they provide contacts for car rentals or they can arrange tours for you as well. But if you prefer staying in, you can splash straight into one of their two swimming pools, or go straight to the AIQ gym and jogging track. The latter stretched along 3 kilometres with beautiful view of the beach, lush greens and passed the hotel’s own orchard – where guests are free to pick the fruits along the way. And once you’ve finished exercising, you can relax and being pampered at D’Lombok Spa for that precise finishing touch.

With all that Aruna has to offer, do you really need another reason to visit and try a proper vacation in Senggigi this weekend?
