10 Best Waterfalls in Bali

By: Brian Sjarief |

Bali is known for its stunning views and magical scenery. One of the most popular things to do in Bali is going to its majestic waterfalls. Waterfalls can be found all over Bali and it is a must-do when you are in Bali. Here is a list of the most beautiful waterfalls of Bali.

1. Tukad Cepung Waterfall

The Tukad Cepung Waterfall is located close to Bangli in the middle of the jungle. Be sure to take your water shoes or flipflops with you since it is a fairly difficult climb towards the Waterfall, although it is definitely worth the effort. Tukad Cepung is non-touristic and that is what makes it even more beautiful, you will be amazed when you arrive because it is truly breath-taking.

2. GitGit Waterfall

The GitGit waterfall is very popular and thus became a major attraction for tourists. The waterfall is amazing but be careful with the guides who do overcharge you for their services. At the GitGit waterfall you can also go on the swings to see a beautiful view and take amazing pictures.

3. Aling-Aling Waterfall

Aling-Aling Waterfall, which is located fairly close to Buleleng, is the only waterfall in Bali where you could jump off the waterfall straight into the water! There are different heights to jump from namely; 5 meters, 10 meters and 15 meters. Aling-Aling is the perfect waterfall for daredevils who are searching for some extra adrenaline rush in their life. When going to this waterfall keep in mind that a guide is mandatory, but the prices are fair.

4. Tibumana Waterfall

The Tibumana Waterfall is one of the easiest accessible waterfalls of Bali, yet non-touristic. The waterfall that you will see is not the biggest waterfall, but you could take a refreshing dive into the water and relax with a perfect view. The road to this waterfall is also easy since you will only have to walk for 5 minutes with barely any ups or downs.

5. Sekumpul Waterfall

The Sekumpul Waterfall is a waterfall for the adventurers, with all its narrow paths, tiny bridges and slippery slopes it is a challenge to arrive at the Sekumpul Waterfall. The waterfall is available with or without guide and for the adventurers I would advise to choose your own path and enjoy the adventurous roads leading you to the beautiful Sekumpul Waterfall.

6. Banyumala Twin Waterfall

Banyumala Twin Waterfall, for me this waterfall is the most exciting one. It has everything; windy roads, slippery slopes, small bridges and a wild jungle. The way to the waterfall takes around 25 minutes of heavy hills and roads through the jungle. After your heavy walk it feels amazing to take a swim in the refreshing and cold water to re-energize your body. The waterfall itself is in my opinion the most beautiful in Bali and the most rewarding one. This waterfall is also available for the less adventurous because you could be brought by a scooter to a certain point where it is only a 10-minute walk from the drop point.

7. Kanto Lampo Waterfall

(Source: TripAdvisor - Submitted by Gere G)

Kanto Lampo Waterfall is located close to the touristic city Ubud, this waterfall however is not touristic at all and is the perfect place for a refreshing dive. The road downstairs is slippery and quite difficult to reach for elderly people or children. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful, they will even take pictures for you.

8. Blahmantung Waterfall

(Source: TripAdvisor - Submitted by Karmatrendz)

Blahmantung Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall, but the road towards the waterfall is as amazing as the waterfall itself. A long but not heavy walk of around 30 minutes through the jungle and astounding nature of Tabanan will leave your mind wondering. At the bottom of the waterfall it is chilly since the water splashes upwards and it will feel like a drizzle on your body, recommended to go on a warm day.

9. Nungnung Waterfall

(Source: TripAdvisor - Submitted by seebalitour)

Nung Nung Waterfall is one of the must-see waterfalls in Bali, this waterfall is surrounded by only green nature and makes the view spectacular. The 500 step stairs are actually a stairway to heaven. This waterfall is fairly commercial and there are a lot of guides available which will bring you through a load of touristic stands, where you could buy some souvenirs.

10. Tegenungan Waterfall

(Source: TripAdvisor - Submitted by bagoes)

Tegenungan Waterfall, a very touristic waterfall close to Ubud. The waterfall itself is enormous and is perfect for taking pictures and having a relaxing and refreshing swim. Since it is very touristic there are a lot of souvenir shops and tour guides who want to provide their services for some Rupiahs.
