Set on the main junction of Subak Sari Street, ONA Eatery Canggu is a chic dining space with arrays of Provencal-inspired menus and laid-back vibes to cater their guest with fine ambience all day long.
Established just few months ago, there’s a refreshing sense of tranquility in ONA Canggu’s overall vibe. The restaurant boasts a cozy open-air lounge (with spacious parking lot!) for guest to sit and get-soaked in the quaint tropical atmosphere before even picking up the menu. Designed fully by the owners, ONA interior is filled with homey yet stylish contemporary elements; stone pillars, plush sofas and wooden table of grey, blue and white tones overlooking the green rice field landscape which has defines the timeless signature beauty of Bali.
ONA Canggu serves arrays of classic French Provencal-influenced comfort food, cooked with modern presentation and Mediterranean ‘revisited’ touch; with different set of menus for lunch and dinner occasion, along with robust vegan selections to cater non-meat food enthusiast. Not only using fresh ingredients, ONA Canggu also grows their own plant sources in organic garden located at the backyard of the restaurant. In later hours, right after dawn, the restaurant’s ambience slowly changes into a more chill-out mood; creating a perfect atmosphere to lounge around with selections of specialty cocktails, draft beers, top wines and spirits.
To start off your dining session, try one of their tasty appetizers; such as Yellow Fin Tuna Tacos, which is a portion of tuna cooked with chipotle mayo, iceberg lettuce, soft taco, tomato salsa and coriander for a full-bodied, creamy- crunchy seafood delight; or you can opt for Beef Tartar; which is a perfect combination of crème fraiche, cured yolk, shallot and mushroom soy on tender beef chops, with crusty fried kale on-top. For the main menu, Candied Pumpkin & Sobrasada is worth trying; beautiful combination of sweet Mediterranean goodness that comes from pumpkin two-ways (roasted and pickled), served with spiced pepita, whipped ricotta, blood vein sourel and oil made from Balearic-style raw, cured sobrasada sausage. The tasty fried kale returns to this dish as an appealing addition to both sight and taste alike with its distinctive savory flavor and shape. Next, you may also try the Home Made Gnocchi; tender gnocchi pasta grilled to perfection with a scrumptious organic tomato Bolognese sauce to match; served along with grana pradono cheese and fried basil leaves. Grilled Barramundi is also a treat for fish lovers; a blends crispy skin and tender barramundi fillet, best enjoyed with rich side dish consisting cauliflower puree, asparagus and broccoli.
If you wish to wrap up your dine with satisfaction, don’t go home without trying at least two of ONA Canggu’s sweet treat; namely ONA Tiramisu, which comes in ‘biscuit’ form of creamy, coffee-based goodness, complete with coffee ice cream and candied nibs, or Chocolate Nemasis; a grand combination of chocolate ganache, chocolate ice cream, vanilla cream, candied cocoa nibs, and chunks of crunchy honeycomb.
