Perched on a clifftop with a vantage view of Bali’s Southern Coast–including its timeless Southern Coast and iconic Pura Uluwatu temple, Six Senses Uluwatu take its guest into different phases of panorama; startling vista of surrounding cliffs and undulating blue Ocean, three different infinity pools where swathe of crystal clear water meets the sky and clouds above, and rugged surf crashing on the shoreline, several hundreds feet below. Its a wonderful combination of high-end luxury and immaculate natural surroundings that has defines the island for ages.

The Cliff Bar

From the very first moment, Six Senses Uluwatu has dedicated their effort to achieve sustainability and wellness all at the same time. Established on mid 2018, the resort is the only one to date in Bali that owns a ‘Certificate of Sustainability’. Its terraces are landscaped with indigenous plants, and all the villas are built almost entirely of sustainably and ethically farmed timber. The resort also composts their food and bottles their own water which made from recycled grey water; not to mention organic kitchen garden which supplies most ingredients for their upscale in-house restaurants. Six Senses also support the ‘local heroes’ mentality, as vast majority of their staff consists of Balinese from surrounding villages.

Speaking of ‘surroundings’, the area of Uluwatu is globally known as legendary surfing destination. Some famous brands held annual championships on its breaks; just beyond the yellow, soft-sand beaches. Six Senses is located in a more secluded area, but from here, you can still easily get to some gorgeous spots such as Padang Padang beach and the aforementioned Pura Uluwatu.

Presidential Villa Master Bedroom

One can expect a magnificent staying experience with a fine touch of traditional Balinese village vibe at Six Senses Uluwatu. There are a total of 28 sky suites and penthouses and 75 cliff pool villas, which are all interspersed with lush vegetation for seclusion and accompanied by Guest Experience Maker. The Retreat and The Presidential Villa are sumptuous and stately.

The villas are built incorporating local elements and culture such as carved wooden doors leading to a small courtyard area and ceremonial altar. Bamboo-weave rugs and contemporary-style furniture enhance the whole villa’s eclectic interior with stylish yet grounded charm. Bathrooms have egg-shaped tubs with refreshing outdoor view and indoor-outdoor rain shower. Guest who feels like embracing their ‘art of doing nothing’ can easily spend the whole day in the room, especially given that each villa units are equipped with its own plunge pool on private deck.

As briefly explained above, Six Senses Uluwatu very own open-air restaurants Rocka and Crudo serves arrays of healthy dishes which ingredients are carefully picked from the resort’s own garden. Try some rendition of Indonesia’s local goodness in form of variant ‘nasi’ (rice)-based dishes, or the island’s very own indegenous ‘Lawar’ in Rocka, or Japanese Nikkei-styled food which served both raw and grilled over open fire. To accompany your tantalizing meals, there are 21 kinds of juices to detoxify or amazing French-press coffee. For those craving for quality liquor might have to try selections of’arak’; Balinese local alcoholic brew that pack quite a punch. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

After a full day of activity, Six Senses Uluwatu allow their guest to indulge in a pampering body treatment before they rest in the convenient room. For those who are staying for more than a day, it is recommended to try the Integrated Wellness Screening; a signature holistic measurement of key bio-markers that the resort’s dedicated Spa team uses to create an individual programme and maximize the treatment benefit for each guest. How cool is that!

Infinity Swimming Pool

Those who come with their little ones would be happy to know that Six Sense Uluwatu also offers an amusement facility for children. Different from other similar facility, the resort’s Kids Club is characteristically focused on mindfulness and environmental engagement, so no electronic gadgets allowed whatsoever! Your beloved ones can participate in Earth Lab programmes to learn about planting and recycling instead.Or, you can all have a relaxing family time in the resort’s Cinema Paradiso; which screens movies outdoor and watched via wireless headsets.
