On Friday, September 13th, Conrad Bali launched an inaugural Wine Dinner event featuring a prominent Italian winemaker family; Marchesi ‘de Frescobaldi.
Planned to be held as a quarterly event for public, this very first Wine Dinner by Conrad Bali gathers honorary guests from business partners and media representation across the island. Highlighting the resort’s commitment to local produce, Conrad Bali’s Executive Chef Benoit Chargy presented an exquisite five-course menu infused with rich Indonesian flavors in each dish. Paired with the finest selections of premium Frescobaldi wine, the courses complement each other in the most delectable way. Making wines from the early 1300s, the Frescobaldi’s produce found ready markets and by the 15th century, it has been associated with the royal courts.
After some light drinks and few canapes beside the pool, guests are immediately escorted to their personally decorated table in the opulent ambiance of SUKU restaurant. Started light with the fruity Pinot Grigio – Attems 2016, served with the signature Indian Ocean Baby Lobster, followed by the refined floral blend of Pomino Bianco Chardonnay 2016 and Slow Cooked Kampung Farmed Egg—its subtle pink hue making them a fragrant pairing, Remole Cabernet Sauvignon 2017’s exotic aroma enriched the buttery texture of Javanese Foie Gras; the rich, complex notes of vintage 2008 Giramonte paired with the main course, Aromatic Organic Short Rib, and the velvety notes of Pomino Pinot Nero 2013 wrapped the uniquely presented dessert, Balinese Pod Chocolate.
Throughout the wonderful dinner occasion, Erika Ribaldi—Frescobaldi’s wine ambassador—and Chef Benoit Chargy were taking turns to enthrall guests with their stories of Tuscany winery journey and the rich Indonesian cuisines presented on the tables.
